Maurice Noble Signed Layout 1957 Boyhood Daze Chuck Jones Ralph Phillips Warner Bros
Maurice Noble original production Background Layout from Warner Brothers Merrie Melodies 1957 "Boyhood Daze" directed by Chuck Jones
SIGNED BY MAURICE NOBLE
from the Steve Ison collection
Maurice Noble was a legend - more than a layout artist, he was a collaborator on most of the classic Warner Brothers cartoons AND working on classics as far back as Snow White for Disney.
Steve Ison had the world's largest collection of Snow White animation art (he had gallery exhibits, books, etc.) and he considered Maurice Noble to be a close friend. We acquired a grouping of Maurice Noble layout drawings from his collection. From the Ralph Phillips cartoons. This one is from Boyhood Daze, from 1957, directed by Chuck Jones. A number of the drawings in the group we acquired are printed in "The Noble Approach" by Tod Polson - so the provenance is incredible.
This page features the setting for the cannibal section of the short. We've included 4 random screen shots from the final short and you can see how these elements were there in the final film. It is signed by Maurice Noble himself. We'll of course include a Charles Scott Gallery COA.
We've mounted this gorgeous piece of hand-drawn art in an acid-free, 4-ply paper mat that measures 11" x 14" - so just buy your own frame and hang it in your home gallery. Note: we only use archival/acid-free materials in mounting your artwork.
